Tuesday, May 20th, 2025 @ O'Hare Mill Homestead and Conservation Area @ 1:00pm, 638 Mill Road, Madoc

This conservation area is part of Quinte Conservation, and you will need to pay a $7.00 parking fee on arrival, or you can sign out a conservation pass at the library for free.

The 2+ hour walk will cover a few of the seven trails and run through forested woods, across babbling creeks, around some marshes, and past old stone fences. We will also have time to enjoy some of the pioneer-era buildings, including a blacksmith shop, carriage house, one-room schoolhouse, and covered bridge.

Difficulty level is moderate. For those interested, we can stop for coffee after our walk. This summer we are offering some new & traditional destinations for our walks. The hikes are open for anyone in the community to enjoy the nature surrounding us. Each hike will have a difficulty level from easy to strenuous. Please look at the descriptions to see if the walk is for you. (There are no set fees to join us, but donations to the 'Circle of Friends' are gratefully accepted to support our community programs.)

You should have good walking shoes/boots, a day pack with water and snacks and walking poles are encouraged if needed.
